Greenbank Preparatory School is an independent co-educational school for children aged three to eleven years. Our separate Nursery, open fifty weeks of the year, provides exceptional care for babies and toddlers aged six months to three years old. From there, children transition to our Preschool, which offers a nurturing environment to prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey.
Located on Heathbank Road, just a mile from Cheadle Hulme village, Greenbank sits within spacious and well-maintained grounds. The school blends traditional charm with modern facilities, including dedicated science, art, and music rooms, an IT Suite and Library, and separate play areas for Foundation, Infant, and Junior pupils. Outdoor facilities include expansive playing fields, a cricket pavilion, a versatile Astroturf area, and a netball court, alongside our onsite Forest School. The Forest School offers children hands-on learning experiences in nature, helping them develop confidence, creativity, and resilience while fostering a deep connection to the natural world.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and environmental education, Greenbank proudly maintains an onsite apiary. Our beekeeping project provides children with the opportunity to learn about the vital role bees play in the ecosystem while actively participating in hive care. This initiative, led by qualified staff and involving our Year 5 and 6 pupils, is a cornerstone of our Eco School program, which has earned the prestigious Green Flag Award with Distinction. The rest of the school also engages with the importance of pollinators through tailored lessons and activities, and visitors are invited to sample our very own Greenbank honey.
