Greenbank is proud to have achieved the prestigious National Eco School "Green Flag Award" with distinction six times, the highest recognition for environmental awareness in schools. We are currently reapplying for our seventh Green Flag, reflecting our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
The "Green" theme is central to life at Greenbank and is championed by our active Eco Council, made up of pupils, staff, and parents. Together, we work on initiatives that benefit both our school and the wider community, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

At Greenbank, we believe that caring for our environment starts with small actions that grow into lifelong habits. Throughout the year, our children have embraced a wide range of eco initiatives, learning how they can make a positive difference to the world around them.
From celebrating World Earth Day and taking part in community litter picks, to creating our Eco Garden, planting bulbs, supporting our Seed Swap and learning about the importance of bees and biodiversity, our children have shown fantastic enthusiasm and commitment. They have also expressed their passion for protecting the planet through poetry, creative projects and our dedicated Eco Council.

Thank you to all parents who work hard to either walk, ride or scoot (you are never too old) some of the ways to school. It helps tremendously with the flow of traffic outside the school. If you have to drive, please continue to look for parking places not directly outside the gates. However, particularly on Nursery Road, please park considerately as we wish to maintain a good relationship with the residents. Where possible park further down Nursery Road to avoid congestion at the junction with Heathbank Road.
