If you’re a parent looking for a place in our Day Nursery, please contact admissions@greenbankschool.co.uk or complete our Admissions Enquiry Form to register your interest and check for availability. Once registered, you will be invited to tour the Nursery. Following this, we can arrange as many settling-in sessions as needed to ensure your child feels comfortable, happy and secure.
Our Nursery and Preschool are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, 50 weeks a year. We close on all Bank Holidays and for two weeks over Christmas.
We offer flexible options to suit your needs, including morning and afternoon sessions, in addition to full-day care.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework sets the standard for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to five years old. It emphasises the importance of a nurturing and stimulating environment where play serves as the foundation for learning and personal growth.
At our Nursery and Preschool, we offer a variety of engaging learning experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Activities are thoughtfully planned around each child’s unique interests, ensuring they feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn.
Each child is assigned a dedicated Key Person who closely observes their development, celebrates achievements, and creates individualised plans for their next steps. This tailored approach helps every child progress at their own pace, building essential skills and a lifelong love of learning.
Our approach aligns with the updated 2024 EYFS framework, ensuring children receive the highest standards of care and education in a safe, secure, and enriching environment.
We value parents as their child’s first educators and believe that collaboration is key to supporting each child’s development. By working together, we ensure children thrive in their learning journey.
We foster strong parent partnerships through:
Our goal is to ensure parents feel welcome, informed, and fully engaged in their child’s early years of education.
We are registered with Ofsted to provide care; however as the Nursery and Preschool form part of the school registration with the ISA, we are now inspected by the ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) at the same time as the school. We were last inspected in June 2017 where we gained 'outstanding'.
We administer medication with prior written consent, including paracetamol, antibiotics, and inhalers.
If your child becomes unwell while in our care, we will contact you to arrange collection or recommend a doctor’s visit. To prevent the spread of infection, we may request children with illnesses such as sickness, diarrhea, or chickenpox stay home.
Our Nursery offers four age-appropriate rooms designed to support children’s growth and development:
Our large, fully enclosed outdoor area offers opportunities for physical play, sand and water exploration, and discovering the natural world.
Note: Fees must be up to date for continued use of the Nursery.
