To the great benefit of our school community; Greenbank has been an active member of North West Gifted and Talented (NWGT) since 2012.
As members we:
Our specialist teachers are able to provide a great range of workshops, attended both by our own bright and able young people and like-minded others from outside our school. These have included: Art and Design; Media; Modern Foreign Language; Drama and Creative Writing workshops and, through our collaboration with members of the North West Go Association, we have hosted introductory challenge workshops to the strategic game of GO.
We invite selected pupils from both the infant and junior departments to appropriate Masterclasses in English and Mathematics. These Masterclasses challenge and extend our children’s skills and thinking and provide them with opportunities to encounter novel ideas.
Our pupils have attended a vast array of workshops including: Coding; Dance; Cricket and Athletics; Netball; Code Breaking and Strategy; Science; Roman; Art; Mandarin and Writing workshops.
Teaching staff accompany our children attending NWGT Masterclasses and thereby both observe and participate in them, developing greater expertise in challenging deeper thinking in all learners.
Banks Bee is a whole-school reward initiative encouraging children to: Bee Committed; Bee Involved; Bee Loyal; Bee Bold and BE THE BEST THEY CAN BEE!

As our children progress through the school, they will be rewarded for their participation and endeavour through Banks Bee’s reward scheme – comprising of bronze, silver, gold and even platinum awards.
